Introduction
School of Industrial Management (SIM) was established in 1990 with an aim to meet the growing demand for management education and research in Vietnam. Our commitment is to create value in management knowledge to community through a combination of the three activities, including Creating knowledge (Doing researches), Transferring knowledge (Education), and Applying knowledge (Consulting and Application).
Mission: Within the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, SIM is the bridge between technology and management knowledge, creating an integrity of multidisciplinary education.
Vision: SIM becomes a knowledge sharing environment with high quality of teaching, research and learning standards in lines with global integration.
Education Programs
SIM has various programs at three degree levels, Bachelor, Master and Doctoral, including local programs (with Vietnamese language) and international programs (with English as the official language) with total enrolled students of 1,800, of which 600 are graduate students.

- BBA – UIS : Bachelor of Business Administration, granted by University of Illinois at Springfield (USA)
- Maastricht MBA – the joined Master of Business Administration program with Maastricht School of Management (the Netherlands)
- Management international consulting MBA – the joined program with Northwestern University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland)
Faculty of SIM
SIM has four departments, including Department of Production and Operation Management, Department of Marketing and Management, Department of Finance, Accounting and Economics, Department of Management Information System and Decisions Science. Most of 60 SIM faculty members were graduated from world-wide universities and institutions (USA, Australia, Thailand, Switzerland, France etc.) Faculty members are the value of SIM with main characteristics of being research oriented, quality oriented, and proactive in providing new knowledge and skills.
Researches And International Cooperation
SIM has collaborative relations with many local firms, and organizations including Department of Sciences and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City and those of other provinces, Ho Chi Minh City Institution of Economics, local and international universities, international organizations such as IFC, MPDF, UNIDO, ESCAP, SDC, JICA.
SIM also focuses on integrating with international academic community by building long-term relationship with foreign partners for improving our education quality, facilitating joint researches, staff and students exchange activities … Some of our partners include: Univ. Georgia, Univ. Illinois at Springfield (US), Univ. Fribourg, SAV, Northwestern Univ. of Applied Science (Switzerland), Maastricht Business School (Netherland), Univ. Reutlingen (Germany), Univ. New South Wales, Western Sydney Univ. (Australia)... In education, SIM receives transfer faculties from prestige international universities who involve in academic programs of SIM as lecturers, guest speakers and advisors. SIM also organizes international conferences and workshops to promote the transfer of knowledge and experiences in both academics and practices.
At the beginning of 2003, SIM established the Business Research and Training Center (BR&T) with a mission to efficiently utilize SIM’s and other partners’ resources to create value for business and academic community, through many activities such as consulting, doing researches, training in business management. SIM has some dominant research teams specializing in Market researches and International business, Production and Operation management, Corporate finance, Corporate governance, Quality management, Small and medium Business management, Management information systems etc. Major researches have been done include Evaluation of practices and Solutions to improve management quality of various aspects including competitiveness, marketing, human resources, corporate governance, technology, and information etc.
