History & Mission

Originated from the Department of Environmental Engineering of Faculty of Civil Engineering founded in 1981, the Faculty of Environment (FE) was established in 1999. It is currently one of the leading education institutes in the South Vietnam that provides engineers, researchers and experts for the human resource demand of the society in the field of environment and natural resources management such as water and wastewater treatment, air pollution controls, solid waste treatment and management, waste recycling and reclamation, water resource management, urban environmental management, application of GIS and remote sensing to environmental and natural resources management. Most importantly, the Faculty is bearing its prominent responsibility for training to students with state of the art of knowledge and cutting edge technologies in environmental protection and natural resource management in the South Vietnam.

Staff    & Facilities

The Faculty has 38 staff and full-time lecturers, including 8 associate professors, 12 doctors, 8 masters. In addition to permanent staff, there are visiting professors and local experts who have also significantly contributed in the Faculty’s academic activities, both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. To facilitate research and technology transfer, the Faculty has built and upgraded in depth its three Laboratories: (i) Environmental Technology Laboratory, (ii) Advanced Waste Treatment Laboratory and (iii) Environmental Quality Monitoring and Simulation Laboratory. These Laboratories have been increasingly invested with modern and latest equipments and facilities.
