21 HCMUT students awarded Sunflower Mission Scholarship 2016

Within the last two days on 29 November & 01 December, Sunflower Mission has awarded scholarships to 59 students in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City. This is one of the social programs to create learning and working opportunities for talented engineers of Viet Nam.

Sunflower Mission is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 and is headquartered in the US with the aim of creating better conditions for learning, working for Vietnam students through educational programs. eSilicon is the managing and coordinating unit for  scholarship programs to university students in technology & engineering sectors of Sunflower Mission in Vietnam. This partnership is leaded by Ms. Le Duy Loan, one of the founders of eSilicon, a company with headquarter based in Silicon valley.

21 HCMUT students were awarded the scholarships at the Ceremony

In 2016, Sunflower Mission and eSilicon Vietnam has received more than 200 applications for scholarships for students in technology and Engineering sectors. Going through different selection rounds, 59 students nationwide received scholarships worth 6,500,000 VND each. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) occupied 21/41 scholarships for Ho Chi Minh City area. The purpose of the program is to honor the students of the prestigious universities with outstanding academic achievement in the fields of science, technology and mathematics; and also to encourage students to become good citizens contributing to the world development.

It is reported that in the last 14 years, Sunflower Mission Foundation has awarded scholarships to nearly 16,000 students at all levels, including more than 400 university graduates.
