MOU Signing Ceremony between HCMUT and Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam)

Morning 1st December, 2016, HCMUT and Far Eastern Polytex Vietnam (FEPV) signed the cooperation framework in 103, A5 building, HCMUT.

Attending the ceremony was And FEPV – Mr. William Hsu - Senior Vice President, Mr. Welsy Hwang – HRM Manager, Mr. Roger Lo – Adminstration and General Affairs Manager, Ms. Vu Thi Bich Huong– HR Vice Manager and form HCMUT - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong – Vice Rector, Dr. Vo Dai Nhat – Deputy Director of External Relations Office (ERO), Dr, Do Ngoc Hien – Vice Dean of  Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Representive of Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Nhan -  Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Dr. Bui Mai Huong - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Thuy – Environment & Resources, Ms. Thai Hoang Chi An – Officer – ERO.

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong – Vice Rector expressed his excitement for the successful conclusion of the previous cooperation activities and hoped that this Memorandum of Understanding would help further cooperation for mutual interests of.

On behalf of HCMUT and FEPV, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong – Vice Rector and Mr. William Hsu - Senior Vice President signed the MOU.

At the ceremony, HCMUT and FEPV discussed on the higher education supporting, the research targets to develop and apply new technology in fields of chemical engineering, textile technology as well as sharing their specialized experience to meet the practical demands. The cooperation offered good opportunities for deeper collaborations e.g. joint student scholarship program, joint field trips, joint research and partnership for technology transfer between FEPV and HCMUT. The ceremony marked an important milestone for a sustainable cooperation between FEPV and HCMUT.

The Far Eastern Group has achieved vertical and horizontal integrations, and has spanned over 10 major industries including petrochemicals and energy, polyester and synthetic fiber, cement and bulding materials, retail and department stores, financial services, sea/land transportation, communications and Internet, construction, hotels and philanthropies. There are 9 public listed companies in the Group which has total assets exceeding NT$2,500 billion (US$75.8 billion). Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam) Ltd. produces synthetic fibers. The company was founded in 2015 and is based in Binh Duong, Vietnam. The company’s factory in Binh Duong, specialised in textile and chemical fiber production, is the third largest in the world, after the other two in China and Taiwan.
