In the framework of the AUN / SEED-Net Project, on 21 October 2014, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUT) has held an information session for promoting the scholarship programs under the AUN / SEED-Net Project. There was the participation from the Project’s Representative Office and representatives from five new members of the network: Thammasat University (Thailand), Kasetsart University (Thailand), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (Indonesia).

The event has drawn the attention of a large number of HCMUT staff and students. This is an opportunity for them to learn more about this Project, as well as about their scholarship programs and support programs ... Now, the project is currently being implemented in phase 3 (2013 - 2018) with new programs and new majors offered at the host institutions.

The event attracted the attention of many faculty members and students.

On behalf of the HCMUT, Prof. Mai Thanh Phong – Vice Rector and Director of Project Management Board gave an opening remarks for the event; at the same time expressed sincerest thanks to the Project’s Representative Office and representatives from University members for their continuous supporting for HCMUT staffs and students in recent years.

The AUN / SEED-Net Project (ASIAN University Network/ Southeast Asia Engineering Education Network) was established since April 2001, is a network of leading Southeast Asia technical universities sponsored by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with academic and research support from Technology Universities in Japan of technology in Japan. In the framework of this project, each University in Southeast Asian countries who joined the network is called a university member. After two stages of implementation, the project has created learning opportunities, provide post-graduate training for HCMUT staff and students, funding for many research projects, exchange programs ...

The third phase of the project started since March 2013. During this period, the project has added 7 new university members from the South East Asia and 4 supporting Japanese Universities into the network.

There are many scholarship programs which are now being implemented within the Project: Master Scholarships in Southeast Asia, Doctorate Scholarships (Sandwich), Doctorate Scholarships in Singapore and Japan, Integrated Graduate Scholarship Program.
